    Hi All,

    Doesn't FB make you depressed?

I mean where ever you go everybody is posting his holiday pictures/party pictures and especially girls put their marriage and children photos in FB.

Don't you get depressed on seeing all this? Don't you get feeling that everyone life has moved up and you are stuck up?

One more thing, do you see your self updating FB status when you grow old i.e 60 or 70 years old?

    Please give your opinion.

I would like to respond your first questions: everyone wants to fun in their life, they go for holidays with friends, family, kids or anyone. Today, it's a good thing that everyone shares their some memorable thing via photos or videos at facebook and everyone sees that photos or videos at their places, there is no force for anyone. so that's a good thing.

If you spend too many hours infront of a computer alone you may start having this feeling of depression. Its not facebook to blame.I think you should feel happy when your friends are too.

The people that do get depressed on facebook I think spend too much time seeing what everyone else has instead of living their own life.

You'd be depressed by your friend's family/party/vacation pictures probably because you're not doing the right things in life. So it's not FB...it's reality that's making you miserable. Try changing your priorities.

Why not. I see myself still using social networks to be in touch with other people even when I'm 60 or 70.

Facebook is actually making people happy. These people sharing their moments are very happy that they want to share it with the rest of the world. This positive feeling can be absorbed by their friends because friends become happy when their friends are. People who get depressed with these sharing are people who (I think) are envious. Let's just be happy for those who are.

If something makes you feel like that why do you continue using it? It's like a drug addict saying I hate the way drugs make me feel yet keep on using them.

No I do not. I am not obsessed with other's content so I would not be annoyed by other's upload photos' status, etc, It's even my right to see it or to not see it. 60 or 70 ? I am not so sure FB will stay that longer, we ever used Friendster but it soon no longer be used by social media players.

i think it's a media to share everything, to express your happiness, thought, etc. but the 'unwritten' guideline is that you shouldn't try to post everything which make others disturbed, like your very personal experience, feeling, picts.

I don't think that Facebook makes his user depressed. Everybody has something new in life and they are sharing with their friend. nothing else. It's a social site for the communication only.

I don't really think that it makes depression. It's more like sharing your plans or what happened with you. Most people share too much, because Google sees everything and you can find it. Most people spend too much time on FB. This makes dependence. This is sad.
