Paypal is stupid, they always get you scamed, when you file complain all the seller has to do is say they have tracking number and you lose

I have lost over 500$ because paypal is stupid

these ppl u pay them to program something and they never return after 1 week

never use paypal to buy stuff okay

Well... I would say, never use it to SELL stuff.. as BUYERS mostly refund the money, and if they refund you've lost the money...

But it's paypal you know.. it's a leader in payment processing, so that's why most people use it ;)

I've lost over 300$ already too so.. (my acc got closed)

Paypal is a payment processor! They do not get you scammed, you are the one dealing with these type of people. If you keep getting scammed, you need to quit paying upfront. Deal with people that you have recommendations from someone you trust.

If you lost over $500, you are not being careful and you are not doing your research. You need to look for reputable people who have been around a long time and are charging normal rates not the low ball unbelievable cheap rates.

It is easy to blame Paypal but when doing business Online or off, it is up to you to be responsible for the business deals you make.

Paypal is just a payment processors. If you are purchasing any digital product using paypal for example you have high possibility of getting scammed as the buyer might have paid you using stolen credit card and the real buyer filed the complaint and paypal will refund the money.

My personal suggestion is that don't buy something from some person or site which can't be trusted. If you are not buying products from a reputed site you will have less possibility of getting scammed.

If you are dealing with intangible items, you should assume most of the blame.

    Hi,

I have used PayPal for nearly 3 years now !, and have never come across ANY issues, I've sold 15,000+ products on eBay and on my own eCommerce website, i sell simple accessories to LCD TV's ! ALL IN ALL I have NEVER EVER HAD AN ISSUE, If you use their services carefully and accordingly you will never get into any sort of trouble/tangles ! Try to avoid trouble and think before you put through any transaction, I've done that carefully all along.... why can't you ?

    Regards,
    JatSim

LOL , The First Day I Came in This Online Business I Bought Around $500 . i asked a guy to make me a full website design + code . he asked for $200.00 he took the 50% upfront payment and like a good boy didnt cheat me . then he made some designs for me and finally i liked one . he said he's done coding and asked for the remaining 50% . when i gave him he didnt even give me any files :S . RAN Away . ! So That was the first and last time i got scammed after that i never gave upfront payments to people below 25 itrade =) .. So You Should Think And Make Transactions , there are alot of SCAMMERS these days!!

I use PayPal all the time, and sold massive amounts of products. I once sold $600 worth of digital items, and the buyer did a credit card chargeback and because they were sent electronically, I could not provide proof that I sent them, so I lost the items and the $600.

Since then I've become a lot more careful dealing with PayPal and I do research on a business or individual purchasing products from me. Instead of emailing their support department, trying calling or sending them a letter. I've found that sending them a letter is by far the most effective. Good luck.

I've used paypal for ever, more then like 5 years? Never had a problem my friend hacked into it once some how, went to go daddy bought over 1000 worth of hosting. paypal ran out of money took it out of the bank. next day i had every single penny and dollar i had back in my bank and paypal. the guy was arrested or w/e for fraud.

Paypal is great, It's not the company its the seller that the issue is.

Plus why would you send 500$ before the work was done? If i send any money before i get something done its like half the price or some where near it, not above half. But i usually wait till i get my product or now its done before i send payment.

You should use paypal, like as if you are hiring an assassin, pay half now, half later :).

even paying half now means you can still lose half real quick. I recommend asking for at least 3 references and checking up on those in detail. If you feel like they might be taking you on a ride then they probably are.

Some people here on DP are so childish it's just a joke. Saying that 'PayPal scammed me' in your case is like saying that your bank scammed you because you got robbed on the way home.

Do your homework, only deal with reputable people and stop being so damn gullible and childish and I bet you would be just fine!

This rarely happens in most cases.

And besides. Paypal 3% fee > Bank Wire Transfer 5% (or more/less depending on bank) when getting payed from your publisher program
