load it up on site.com/articles and install wordpress and a wordpress article directory theme? (going from memory but I would swear there are some free article directory type themes). Failing that there are certainly cheap article directory scripts out there you could do the same for
yes of course articles would be a plus if I put them on personally, still good idea, but I was thinking of a way how to incorporate this that would help link clients, as building links with each other would help, how would articles help clients. I am trying to think outside of the box, and come up with unique stuff that are not currently found in link directories. anyone can just slap up a script and call it a day, this is not what I am looking to do. I want it to benefit the link client as much as possible by offering whatever I can, to benefit my site, their site, to help their rankings to help mine, etc..
surely when talking about articles and backlinks allowing them to put the article up and backlink from it is the help they want (I know I am considering doing it for a site of my own)? If not I am not sure I am grasping what it is that you mean - what sort of additional functionality could you offer? Syndication to other article directories automatically perhaps?
Thats why i created a thread, to get ideas to see what others would like to see, so far no one is participating.. at this point, I am coding the basics of what a directory should have, create account, admin, download php/asp code, verify link status, stuff like that. but I am looking for ideas to enhance it over what the common link directories have. I was thinking that must link directories do not have article systems incorporated, I thought it could be interesting, but knowing what ezine goes through to verify articles might junk the entire idea as it could be to time consuming.
No offence as it is always good to see people looking to 'add value' - but if I could get a link on your directory anyway why would I bother creating an article to put on it? presumably the inner pages that have the links would be something you would be building up the PR of anyway, so I am not sure I see the value of creating nonPR pages and then trying to build up the PR myself. Hopefully you have answered that to yourself, just something I am wondering in my own head!
thats what I am wondering, how to benefit the client, I do see your point, they get a link, why bother with an article...maybe this is just a no solution for the article idea. articles are good for content, but like i said before, it would be time consuming sifting through the junk you know would be uploaded...as you said, I can setup a blog, and add my own articles, that would help seo/content wise, but not really for the client.
dscurlock, I wish you had not hijacked this thread's subject to discuss your website. Everyone, thank you for your useful comments. BTW, may I have two accounts on ezinearticles or it is against their rules? Thanks
Yes,as my own experience.Ezinearticles does not work well to get traffic. But it does give link juice to my site.
I have seen sites get alot of traffic from ezinearticles. The site is PR 6 wigh 2,610,000 pages indexed in Google, 318,540 in Yahoo, and an amazing 3,19,0000 indexed in Bing. The site is huge and if you are publishing an article this should be your first choice. Simple as that.
