OK, So I've spent some time looking around EzineArticles because I post a whole bunch of articles there. As most people know, your articles get buried after a while. Why the hell would I want to let me articles get buried if there is a way to avoid letting them slide off the face of the planet? To understand the rest of this post, you've got to take a look at the bottom of an ezinearticle page. Here is an example of one: http://ezinearticles.com/?4.5-Tips-...el-for-All-(or-More)-Than-Its-Worth&id=592503 At the bottom of the page, you are going to see two main linking areas- the top one displays the 10 most recent entries in that category, and the bottom one displays the 10 most highly viewed. My suspicion is that the "sliding effect" happens as your *new* article rolls off the 10 most recent list and stops getting links from each of the posts in it's category. That's where most of the articles die, after they slide off the Most Recent and before they ever reach Most Viewed. If you could get your article to even the 10th position of Most Viewed, then you once again get links from every article on ezinearticles in that Niche, and your article once again gets some legs. So my question is: How do you keep your article in circulation long enough to get 2-3K pageviews? Even if you write an article that gets a good blast of attention at first, it's got to have some staying power to get into the Most Viewed... in the RV niche, the barrier to entry is about 3K pageviews. Any ideas on how to keep an article fresh in the SE directories or to easily bring a buried article to life again? -Brad
Is there a way to update your article or something to bring it back up to the top? Like a revision? Maybe do a part 2 of an article. Otherwise, I don't know.
