Getting easier to get platinum status.

I set up a new account and submitted 10 articles just relating to my new website - they all got accepted in about 3 days - maybe 2.

Normally you have to request an upgrade to platinum but this time they just upgraded me straight off!

I now have 3 platinum accounts - 48 hour acceptance of articles

I even got someting in the post from them sent via courier! nice pen, mouse mat, pad and sticker... not as nice as a mug the americans get, but worth my while for submitting 10 articles anyway + traffic and back links of course!

Those dogs never sent me anything and I have over a thousand articles up on their site.

Nice to see you having success with them... they are a great source of traffic and backlinks for my sites as well.

Thats good to know as I'm just getting started with ezine. I was thinking about posting articles in many different categories but with this information I think I'm at least going to start by posting in just one. Does the website you are promoting need to be professional in your opinion or do you think they even check? Currently Im wanting to promote a site with a video review on it and nothing else so I'm wondering if will make a difference as to whether or not I will still qualify for platinum.

They absolutely do check so you have to make sure that the site that you link to is informative. You can sell your products/services/ebook etc on the site but it does have to have content.

The other thing I would recommend is to have your articles in the 250 - 300 word range and as large a resource box as possible so it appears that your resource box is a part of the article.

Remember original content as well because they will put your account on hold if you submit articles that won't pass copyscape.

Yep, I think going for one category is way to go - i know I am never going to get platinum status for my 167 basic plus account - i have begged them countless times coming up with all kinds of reasons to upgrade me!

The web pages pages have to be finished - mine are not too professional to be fair, but they are all finished pages and are on-topic with my articles. (make sure you link to 2 pages as you are allowed 2 but they have to be 2 different ones, use anchor text so you move up the serps for your anchor text)
