So, i was browing ezinearticles today to get some ideas and came across this publisher:

    http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Mark_A._Abrahams

Have have around 1100 articles, all of them have the same footer/resourcebox:

First link is (download free ebook):
    http://www.secretaffiliatetips.com/secretsofarticlemarketing.html
(user need to type email adress)

Second link is (get massive income advise for free):
    http://www.secretaffiliatetips.com/
(user need to type email adress)

He have 1100 articles, but does not sell anything.
I guess he use the collected email addresses for something, but no idea for what.

Anyone know what this is all about?

    Hmmm....

A lot of people use articles just to build a list. People like FREE stuff and if it's good they will like you. They like you --> more likely to buy from you. Simple.

So, they make lists for people interrested in certain areas.
Like offer a free fishing ebook, and you get an email list of people interrested in fishing.

Might not be a bad idea though.

Yes they collect the email data and either use an auto responder system to promote other products to the opt in user or just once a month try and push affiliate products. The list itself can also be sold for a decent amount of money if the list is big enough.
