EzineArticles: Good or bad?

    Hi.

As from last week, I started submitting my content to ezinearticles with almost no changes at all to articles. Now I've been told that if an article is posted on two different websites - mine and EZ in this case - and they are not 40% different, that could hamper my search engine power.

How true is that? I decided to give EZ a go so as to have another backlink but now I'm confuesd.

I don't know how Google does it but it is true that duplicate content in articles will limit your search juice. I have begun moving around sentences using synonyms and even re-writing with a different slant each time. Good luck.

Yeah, I think with article marketing you have to look at the long-term benefits. I still get traffic from articles I wrote over a year ago. It's nothing to write home about in terms of number of visitors, but if you are looking for good targeted traffic over a long period of time, article marketing isn't bad.

At the same time, don't think that you're going to sell out of yoru entire inventory over a few articles in ezinearticles.

I don't know of any links offhand, i'm sure there are some. Generally you just want to write on topics you think buyers from your website would be interested in. For example, if you sell shoes, maybe talk about the latest trends in shoe design or about the best selling shoes on the market right now. They would probably be concerned about whats popular since school is getting ready to start.

I understand. My website, blog rather, is a bit different as I don't sell anything, it's just a football(soccer) website for fans of a particular team. News aggregators work nicely and so does Google, I was just entering new horizons such as article marketing. I would love to find someone to guide me into the correct direction, problem is we do it for fun and our budget is limited.

i wonder how could you post your exact article to ezine? it will not be published if you already have a copy on web. will you explain this?

you can have some unique content in ezine or spin the article you have written for your site to post several article directories. you will get some pr juice by doing so and a little bit of traffic.

Actually they didn't complain for that. When they found an article on another website(not mine), they just asked me to add the author name as proof it's mine.

Actually you can spin your articles before submitting to EZ or other articles directory as Google don't list the duplicate content if they found that the post has been on the web

When there are duplicate contents, Google would only consider one and disregard the others.. So the best thing to do is to rewrite the articles.. If you can't do it yourself, you can ask someone to do it for you.. There are lots of persons out there who are willing to do rewrite for a minimal price..

Duplicate content is a just a myth. Ezinearticles is the best article directory out there. Most of my submitted articles there achieve good ranking and pageank. Submit your articles only to directories that drive the best traffic. Don't waste your time submitting articles to dead or less popular article sites.

there are still debate over duplicate content, to be safe, you can have 2 versions of the article done, one on ezine and one on your main website.

Based on what you believe it's just a myth, mrandrei?

Other question: what if I publish the same article, without changes, on ezine days after publishing it on my site? Would that help?

though the duplicate content penalty blown out of proposition, it's still good tactic to have unique content on your site/blog. unique here means you are not going to post same content, which you have on your site on any other site or article directory etc.

eventually you are trying to rank your site and not somebody else's site for the keyword phrase you are targeted.

Ezine articles is just another great way to get traffic, through both SEO and through the site itself. Doesn't hurt to submit your articles there.

if you submit the same article to ezine or to any other article sites, then make sure you wait long enough to get the article on your own site indexed/cached by google otherwise google might take the ezine article as original article source and consider yours as duplicate thereby remove it from indexing. don't worry about duplicate content too much, ezine is worth the traffic.
