Ezine - Squidoo Interaction...

My logic is incomplete and flawed. I'm missing the mental link that's needed to bridge the gap between the Ezine "Article" and the Squidoo Sales/Informational Lens.

I've been doing a lot of reading about using Squidoo as a base for sales and made my first lens (woot). How do you write an article from ezine that's informative and link it to your squidoo page without just basically repeated what you said in your squidoo page? I'm all for good content, but I don't understand why you would say "Click here" just to have your readers reading the same material over again but with affiliate links this time.... I can't only tell someone so many ways to heel tendon problems in their feet, lol.

In other words, let's say you have a "How to rent video games" lens that has affiliate links to several video game rental sites. How do you then manage to go to ezine and rewrite a how to rent video games page, but tell the reader to go to squidoo when you can only offer "X" amount of new content, which I would assume is a limited amount. I can pump out very informative articles, but the fact is, there are only so many facts out there that apply to a given product or sale. If my goal is to drive people to "X,Y, and Z" video game rental company, that's it. There's nothing more to really discuss in the Ezine article. I can't "Review" them, because that's not solid enough content for either site, and would be completely usesless on the Ezine page anyways. The idea with the Ezine page is hto get them to the Squidoo page... but how? Ezine isn't going to accept an article that says

"Hey pal... if you want to know about how to rent video games online, click here." On the same token, if I give away the farm on the Ezine page, I'll have nothing left for useful content on the squidoo page, and they won't let me generate a per sales pitch page, or will they? As an example, my squidoo lens is a "How to." How do I "re-How-Do" for the Ezine article... that would just annoy the consumer, no?

    Argggh :(

I thought you had a fair question and I would love to hear some answers on this one.

I actually thought people write their main article on ezine and then write a squidoo lens linking back to ezine articles as the main hubb. It looks like we've heard the exact opposite stories on how to get the job done.

well to make it short and easier, lets say you create a lens on your niche which is video games. You can write a good content and put it up on ezine (the content must be useful and informational) at the end of the content you can add your sig (lens url) or state for "for more info visit <your lens>" etc.. this helps in backlinks and also seo. you can promote in squidoo but you cant on ezine. the best way is to link them together :)

For that example of video game rental. Maybe you can lead them from a how to on ezine to a review section of the best companies to hire from on squidoo. Don't give all the information on ezine page. Just give an overview of things to look for when renting from a company and things to avoid. In resource box just say something like 'Access an up to date list of the hottest most trustworthy companies to rent from.'

@Silvastar - You normally link from ezine to squidoo because ezine does not allow affiliate links. You can link from squidoo to ezine to help build up traffic and backlinks of ezine article but if you do a 2 way link, ie both articles link to each other, it will lose value in the eyes of google. It's best to have one way links.

ezine doesn't allow affiliate links straight up, but you can cloak them. use a php redirect from your site to the affiliate page and you can post that link on ezine
