Ezine LIED To Us

On the heels of Farmer/Panda Ezine was mulling the idea of going NoFollow with their 'resource' links. The idea was squashed by CEO Christopher Knight on Feb 27th 2011 in a comment to the blog post that announced the pending change. The following day another staff member posted on a new thread that all resource links are DoFollow.

Yet my research has shown a minimum of 20% of articles are nofollowed, and they seem to be author related. They said if anything changed they would update the blog, but that hasn't happened.

Why are they trying to lie?

Do a search on Google using "site:ezinearticles.com how to" and look around, at least 2 of these pages should have nofollow attributes. FireFox Plugin Quirk SearchStatus was used for this test.

i guess due to recent google algorithm update these article websites has taken some beatings and they want to over come that by making some links no follow. But you have the every right to ask them if they promised to give links do follow earlier and pointing them to no follow now. Have you tried contacting the related department there on this issue?

UPDATE: I posted on their facebook, blog and emailed their CEO and rattled the cage a bit until I got a reply.

They are taking action against accounts that violate their quality guidelines (which i think is good). So if you notice links getting NoFollowed it is for this reason.

May be they will start something like yahoo answer..for example you have to write 10 articles until to get nofollow..may he is thinking in that way.

Why don't you mention this lies in his blog..so you might get immediate reply...

It would only make sense that they are trying to protect themselves. Have you read an ezine article lately? Rubbish.

I guess they are doing this to protect themselves for the changes that had been made lately. they don't want to end up loosing their momentum as one of the best article site.
