What is the main purpose people write submissions? Is it for the back link, or do you actually get some traffic?

It is for both although whic one is more effective it all depends upon the article (quality topic popularity) and the type of site. I do see steady traffic from EA and the great thing is that you will get traffic from your article for years.

The backlinks are also a good reason, but to me it is the traffic that is the most important. Of course backlinks help with your SERPs which in turn help your traffic.

backlinks are great for search engines but the most important aspect of article writing is to have keyword friendly articles that humans as well as search engines are attracted to.

The traffic that it brings might not be significant...but the backlinks that it provide is very valuable since the page get indexed very fast and chances for getting PR is very high.

I find the links are beneficial, some of the articles that i have posted have very little traffic so that doesn't provide me with any return for my efforts.

Ezine articles can be a good source of traffic if you take the time to research the most popular topics and produce good quality articles that readers love. Chances are they might click on the resource box to check you out. Backlink is another good reason for submission to ezine articles. Besides squidoo, ezine articles tend to rank highly on the search engines and it helps you gain some amount of traffic from there as well. :)

I agree with supercop-you get name and fame as well and it improves your credibility online. Compared to other forms of marketing, it can be a real cheap way to get some traffic, build backlink and your reputation at the same time as an authority on the topic in question.

Article Marketing do pretty well for me especially Ezine Articles.

The reason is that, Google Love Ezine Articles, and if you submit your article through EzineArticles.com
The google spider tends to crawl to your website much faster.
Another reason is the articles i submit will stay on web forever and it is one of the easiest for meto get backlinks

Also,I used unique article service that distribute my articles into many unique articles to different article dictionary. This really help me get lots of easy backlinks.
and with that, i also outsource all my articles to ccarticles.blinkweb.com so that i can concentrate to look for more profitable niche i can work on.

Article Marketing is just one of the traffic generation , however, there are still plenty of ways to generate quality traffic.

    Cheers,

To answer your question. The main thing you get out of it is traffic. Think of is like this, especially if you are submitting to multiple article submission sites.....With an article, your digital footprint is getting bigger on the internet and there are more ways for people to find you then. This causes the increase in traffic. Particularly if an actual ezine picks up your article for distribution, they "help" you increase your digital footprint.

I've posted a few articles at EA and also used ISnare. Been tracking the visibility of my website in the SERPs for certain keywords and it definitely helps. If you write with your keywords in mind, especially the article title, you'll have better success.

I also just got an email from EA and he suggests setting a target of writing at least 25 articles. Don't know what he bases that on, but the other interesting statistic was that 86% of EA authors submit less than 10 articles. Maybe he's just trying to pump up his biz?

I received their newsletter in my email. The most recent had a link to a 15 page transcript with the owner. That's where I got the above information from.

I have used ezine and have had some difficulty getting my articles approved. Once you reach ten articles they can move you into a faster track on approvals. I think the 86% is accurate as most of the authors write a few articles and don't submit anymore. For some writing articles is a breeze while I guess for others not so much.

If your talking specifically about ezine articles its mainly for the good search engine ranking. Ezine articles is a very good source which always gets ranked highly for what ever the article writer is aiming for, people tend to use this as a tool for getting one of those top rankings in the search engines.

Not only this but if the article has been optimised and is informative then your bound to get search engine traffic to the article as well as many readers who browse ezine articles daily.

As well as this the last bonus will be the backlink you will receive from ezine.
