Ezine Articles Questions (Backlinks and Duplicate Content)

Discussion in 'Google' started by Chamza, Dec 30, 2008.

    Hello,

I have recently posted many articles on Ezine for backlinks/traffic (but mostly for backlinks) and now that some of them are up I want to put the same articles on my blog as well. Will I be penalized in any way by Google if I put the same exact article on my blog even if I wrote it? Should I change each one up a little bit?

Also, how much do you think ~20 Ezine articles will help with keyword ranking? Thanks.

Articles on EzineArticles help a lot. It's not something that be quantified though because rankings are based on so many factors.

I wouldn't recommend publishing those articles on your blog as is. Since they are already published on Ezine, Google would give them credit as the 'owner' of the content. Sometimes even if you publish the article on your own website first, publishing it on Ezine later could make Google give them credit for the content as they are an authority website.

If you want to publish those on your blog, try to rewrite the content so that it is unique. That way Google will index the content instead of ignoring it as duplicate content. In some cases duplicate content could even get your website penalized.

By right you should have posted the article in your blog first and let it crawl before you submit to ezine.

There is no penalty for duplicate content the article gets devalued after it gets indexed
a certain amount of times by google, so you can post that article on your blog if you
    wish to.

emm, you can post your new contents on your blog, about 1 month or more days later, put the same post on ezine.

It will not be a good idea to post the same articles on your blog. You should try to change them a bit and then publish them. :)

Never use duplicate content full stop. If you want to use original articles to post on article sites then make sure after putting it on your site that the content has been spidered by google, search google for a certain string in the article and your site should appear first, then you can post the article elsewhere.

Never use duplicate content. Never post articles from your site in article directories or social sites.

While Google says there is no penality, you can see your original articles hit the supplemental listings in the SERPs.

    Been there, done that.

Post them on your blog, once indexed submit them to article directories with some content changed. Works fine for me.

I agree with the others above that you should rewrite the content in order to make it unique. It is always better to play safe than to crash into a concrete wall.

Always do unique content. Never repeat.
Alternatively, you could submit a short intro to Ezine, and post the entire article on your blog.
