I ran across an old account I had at ezinearicles and found that one of the resource box links were nofollow. After looking a bit I can't find others that are nofollow. The account wasn't banned last I used it so I'm not sure. It's just kind of been sitting there for a while. Article was from 2006 btw
Right, some popular directory is nofollow enabled but I also think it would still be a good source of traffic. all the best,
I got so tired of messing with ezine article directories, that I started posting my articles on social blogs. Instead of waiting forever waiting on the ezines to do their reviews, holding my articles hostage in their ques, I just started posting on Amplify, Gather, Posterous, Mixx, Newsvine, even Squidoo and HubPages, etc. At least I know they (at least all the ones I just mentioned) are dofollow and they appear immediately, specially if I ping them after posting.
Being no follow sites is just a twice for more readers they are just making it no follow and sometimes they are not..
These links are in the resource box. But so are all the new ones in articles that which are dofollow. I'm not sure why it's no follow unless it's because of the articles age or maybe that the account is dormant or banned.
I've never heard of an article directory changing an authors article from dofollow to nofollow without a darn good reason. I'm guessing that the account is, like you mentioned, dormant or banned.
As far as I know all links in articles at EzineArticles.com are dofollow. They DO disactivate links if the site they are linking to no longer exists.
Not that I'm aware of. But like I said, I'm only guessing, because I don't think they'd tell you even if you'd ask.
All that being said, I got tired of most of the article directories, mostly not because of the dofollow/nofollow situation, but there is just so much BS period. First you have to pay attention to their guidelines, then you have to wait for them to approve your article, then you have to wait for the link to show up. I found it to be a lot less stress to just post my articles on Squidoo, Hubpages, Google Knol or launch my own free blogs with Blogger or Wordpress. Okay, so I need to worry about page rank, but a lot of the article directories page rank isn't all that either, particularly the pages our articles are posted on.
It also may happen over some period of time.....Ezineaticles.com may mark article's resource box as no follow......I have observed in some articles site......the resource lines are completely removed from article......So it is possible instead of removing resource lines....ezine is simply nofollowing on them.......
