    10. You agree to not purchase or utilize PPC (PayPerClick), PPV (PayPerView) traffic, safelists, or traffic exchanges to artificially inflate your EzineArticles traffic stats. Doing so may result in your account being terminated.

??? So even that squido/vox/hubpages/article exchange and maybe some directory links/bookmarking are all bad ?:D

    No.

    They're only against buy traffic.

Since it's pretty unfair for everyone else. Not I would suggest if you use this kind of traffic to get your articles ranked better within EZA you submit only a few articles / per account to avoid getting a valuable account banned.

Hmm....but what if some juicy link or two from related site (maybe even commercial one, not directory) about this theme points to my article(s), then it's all bad ?:) It may be paid but let's assume it's unpaid since it will be very hard to proof it's paid:)

So promotion of articles with let's say your own network of sites in "organic" way is allowed I assume cause there is not "paid" one type of traffic ?

No, you shouldn't have any issues if you're sending traffic from related sites.

Hi DDP, you could also send traffic from a redirect link.

This way, you can post your redirect link in the resourcebox, and people finding the RC both on EZA and on Google - and will click it.

If you buy a .com or .net - it also might rank organilly in the SERPS.

    regards, LASSE

What about building backlinks to it via social bookmarking or linking on low PR article sites?

That's fine, the issue they have with cheap paid traffic is that people were doing it just to drive up their view count fast to get in the most viewed article area to get tons of views.

Ezine is not against article promotion, they are against "cheating". Fact is, most people inflate their article views to get their articles in the most viewed section so that their article will stay longer on the front page and get more views and they possibly get more sales/leads.

Yes this is meaning if you were to set up a PPC campaign going straight to your article to enhance the views in hope of getting in the 'Most viewed' article category then you would be in trouble.

Indeed; that is the principle of the linkwheel; where you use a site like HubPages and have a link pointing back to your article as well as your money site.

And nothing wrong with that; works just fine. And I wouldn't waste the money on PPC anyways driving traffic to my article- send it to your site.
