FYI The key location on Google for visibility as determined by the eye activity in the study is a triangle that extends from the top of the results over to the top of the first result, then down to a point on the left side at the bottom of the “above the fold†visible results. This key area was looked at by 100 percent of the participants. In the study, this was referred to as the “Golden Triangleâ€. from http://www.enquiro.com/eye-tracking-pr.asp We knew some of this, but it's interesting that the best adsense location may be slightly page down and left. Hmmmmm......
this graphic has been floating around for some time now. pretty interesting though. it's been bringing up debates on how the computer monitor, according to things like search, is becoming sort of a real estate game. there is only so much valuable space to go around.
Posted many times before. FYI - eye tracking is different depending on the site. I paid for an eye tracking study and it looks radically different than that. If you do a study for your site, it will look nothing like that one.
Can anyone offer an example of the golden triangle in a web page... and where is the best target to place your adsense 336x200 (best money earner so they say) code...????
http://ww1.prweb.com/prfiles/2005/02/28/213516/cropped.jpg it took me 1 min to load at 8Mbit so be patient. more about it here. http://blog.eyetools.net/
You can see that the people look where they look because of the site layout, most people have seen google before aswell. There would be no splodge over the paid advertisments on the right if there was nothing there to look at (like lorien said)
shame they never new about you, they could of saved about $50,000 if you had told them. do you have a phd in Desensitization and Reprocessing of eye data ?
