Hi, I have a small question - my website's (www.makewords.com) visitor return rate is less than 20%. Is this ratio normal in your experience? Could there be anything fundamentally wrong with my site's design that makes all those visitors leave and never to return? Thankyou for all your responses
From 10 to 40 would eb about normal to me, depending on the nature of your site. Can you check the time periods they stay on? If under 10 seconds, either your homepage is incredibly unattractive, or theres nothing to hook them. I like your design, but it may be a little too bland and clean. Other that, maybe its just the people who are coming across your website arnt you ideal audience. How many unqies a month do you get? Sorry for my spelling mistakes, and lack of helpfulness.
Thanks for the advice! True, Analytics says that over 50% of my visitors spend less than 10 sec on the homepage. But since my site is built with Ajax, I'm not entirely sure that Google can track visit durations accurately, since no postbacks are happening and Analytics script is not being executed. Does anyone know? Do you think my site's homepage may bee too complex for most users? Should I add more copy about what its for?
