I have a blog at teconom.blogspot.com, and I've been posting for a few months now. It's taken a while but my traffic is slowly but surely increasing. It's not where I want it to be yet, but it is solid I believe for a relatively new blog. I realize that I'm not going to be making much money right away, but I am worried about my CTR. I know that about 5% is what is to be expected, with about 1% being the minimum, but I have a 0.18% CTR. As such, even though I am getting some good CPC numbers, I just am not getting any money. I wouldn't expect to be getting much money at this point anyway, but I am worried about that CTR staying stubbornly low. What is the problem? Is it ad placement? Is it relevance of ads? I used to have a lot of ads about education that I recently got rid of, are they still irrelevant? In other words, what is your diagnosis? What is it going to take to get this blog's CTR higher? I've wondered if my bounce rate is high and whether changing the header would make a difference. For instance, maybe a picture at the top behind the title would get people to hang around the site more often?
