I have 2 counters on my website : 1.eXTReMe Tracking 2.AWStats but they show me differed details. Which should I trust ?
Could you be more explicit? What is different? Which version of AwStats? I see my AwStats reports as clear. They cannot be much mistaken since they only analyze LOG file
it's not about which you should trust. all stats programs are accurate, the thing is, they just all measure differently. you need to understand what the metrics mean and how they're gathered. awstats is server based so it's going to show more visits, always. this likely will include bots and users with images or javascript off, while awstats may not. their definition of various metrics may also differ. stats programs are used best to measure your performance over time. you don't really need to wonder if one if one is more accurate than another. you just need to make sure your traffic on all of the trackers has been going up.
