You can use an audio recorder or any audio mixing program (they usually come with this). I usually use acid pro 4 and then record sounds off clips (while they're playing) with it.

Can you load this clip into Premeire? If so, Premiere ought to be able to do it. Two methods come to mind:

    METHOD #1

I have not used Premeire, but I have used another pro-sumer video editor called Media Studio Pro. The steps you had to perform were:

    1) You had to use a command called "split" to disassociate the audio track from the video track.

    2) You were then free to move or delete the audio track.

    3) Just add your new audio track like you normally would.

Again, I cannot say how Premeire does it, but I do suspect that there is a command to break the logical connection between the audio track and the video track.

    METHOD #2

I have used several video editting software suites (just not Premeire), and they all had the ability to output a movie WITHOUT THE SOUND!

A more "messy" but probably workable method to do what you want is to render the clip without the sound track (again I am assuming you can load this clip into the Premeire timeline), then turn around and load your newly rendered clip (with no sound) BACK into premeire and add your sound track.

A few ways usually exist to skin the video cat...

I hope this helps. Good luck!

If I were in this situation I would've definitely used Sound Forge.

I suggest that you use it too.

Try with VirtualDub, it has an option to Export to WAV and then reencode using your sound. And even more, you can put your audio track instead without extracting the current one and it will replace.

Get VirtualDub, open the video inside VirtualDub.

Go to the Audio menu, select Full Processing Mode then from the same menu go to Compression and choose No audio compression.

Then go to the File menu and select Save WAV.. and you'll have a standard wave file with the audio track of the video.

If you leave the "Direct stream copy" option in the audio menu and select Save WAV... from the File menu, the audio track will be saved as a WAV file on the drive without decompressing the content, so if the audio track was compressed in MP3 format, you'll have the original file with about 50 bytes of wave header. Simply rename the WAV file to .mp3 and it will work in any player.

If you want to maintain it as a video file, you can do it with Windows Movie maker or any other like bundled software.

Just import the video in, mute it and place your own music over it. If WMM doesn't let you do that, then it is a failure in a program altogether.

In adobe premiere its VERY easy.

STEP 1- Drag video file into timeline
STEP 2- Select it on the timeline (click on it)
STEP 3- right click and choose: "Split Audio and Video"
STEP 4- Click on the audio timeline / track.
Step 5- Press DELETE on your keyboard
STEP 6- Import your favorite song.
STEP 7- Drag the song into where the sound should be
STEP 8- Cut it to the right size
STEP 9- Export with your preferred settings using Adobe Media Encoder.

Hi, if you find it is hard when you start to use Premiere to save audio from video clip, you may search for a streaming audio recorder.
Many kinds of them support recording streaming audio from video and will save it in MP3 format. To insert your own song, you can use the audio editor tool on these programs too.

Very late to join you. But hope it is valuable for you.

You may try this video converter, my friends recommend it to me. It can help you extract audio from video to mp3 or wma audio file, it's safe and works pretty well for me, I think it deserves for a try.
If you are interested in it, here is a step by step guide about how to use it

You can try total video converter and just convert the video to .mp3. It'll extract just the audio to .mp3.
