Does anyone know how to achieve these kind of results in the google search when somebody types the name of your site? If it is the work of the sitemap, then would the automatic sitemap usually those who index pretty much all the pages would work to get these results?

    Thanks.

It's an internal Google thing for Authority sites... there is no actual way to 'make' it happen with your listings.

    Sorry

The site shown is no authority. Just a regular site.

Defensetalk is an authority site - thegypsy is right. Same results are shown for CNN, Eurosport, etc. However I think that the decision to give such status to a site is made by live editors and set manually, because there are plenty of valuable sites with high PageRank and thousands of indexed pages that get displayed in normal way.

Anyway, there is no way to do it on your own, unless you make a site that is worthy enough to be valued as CNN :)
