Hi everyone haven't been here in a long time so I'm back! I run www.gamingonlinux.com since 2009 and I am really trying to make a push at growing it. I currently post news on twitter, g+ and facebook and I am wandering if people have other ideas on what I can do to maximise the traffic to it?
The concept of paying for ads has been around for years. One new technique, though, is to pay for YouTube viewers. Virool.com is one option. You can post a video, and then pay about one penny per view. The idea is that Virool pushes your videos out to a targeted audience culled from its network of publishers. Once someone watches your video, he or she may want to visit your website as well. Just be sure your site is set up to cater to Web viewers: Offer other videos and media as well as an engaging call to action.
Here are some ideas for you: 1- Submit videos based on keywords(in your niche) to popular video sites using tubemogul 2-Submit articles in your niche, based on different keywords(long tail) to popular article sites 3-PPC - don't forget about Yahoo and MSN 4-Banner ads - on any high traffic site related to your niche. You need a lot of them to get high traffic volume (the click-through rate is usually very low) 5- PPV - you need lots of campaigns and it might not convert well 6- Social Bookmarking - if you get LOTS of bookmarks at one or two sites, so that you get up in the top 100 rank (like at Digg) you can get large quantities of traffic. 7- PR campaign - a well-done PR campaign using the bigger PR directories (particularly the paid ones) can often result in a big hit of initial traffic. 8- Do some answering on Yahoo Answers in your niche. This takes some time but you'll get great results. Good luck my friend. P.S. forgot to mention that offline methods work as well, such as flyers or posting ads in supermarkets, laundromats or in online and offline local newspapers as well.
