Recently I set an auction for vBulletin license sale. I have two license 3.8 and 4.0. a guy ordered a license from me and I transferred it but then he made a credit card chargeback. He also sent me this just now, what does it mean ? "You might want to check this: http://vbdev.org/vblicense.php be continuing down this path ..."
The file you linked to does not exist...not sure what he means, are you not allowed to sell them by chance?
Your auction states that you purchased the license on 10/20/2009. Under the VB terms, you cannot do a transfer for 90 days. "You may make a one-time, permanent transfer of your rights in the Software to a third party ("Subsequent Licensee"), provided the Software was purchased by you more than 90 days prior to the transfer" http://www.vbulletin.com/order/license_agreement.php This isn't extortion, you can't transfer your license so the buyer disputed the charge.
I don't understand why you persist with this masquerade? Once again, you proved that you have frauded me. I paid (as you just stated) yet you did not transfer the license to me. Even if you had wanted to, you could not have as the vBulletin terms of service would not allow it. I must admit I feel like a bit of an idiot for not seeing this BEFORE I paid, but I won't dwell on that... Of course I have initiated proceddings to get my money back - YOU DID NOT DELIVER! It would save us both effort if you simply just transferred my money back to me rather than force me down the road of lodging disputes with Paypal and VISA which will likely cause you more grief than me. That link posted was to a PHP file which simply logged the IP address of the visitor and a time stamp. He has already proved himself as being a bit dim witted by trying to say I charged back after getting a license when it was not possible for him to actually transfer the license in the first place, I figured I try and bait him with a link to get more info. It worked. Anyway - I've kept the IP address and all information and will be passing it onto VISA/Paypal so they can get their money back from him. With Christmas public holidays etc, he still has a day or so to manually give me a refund, but after that it's too late. I've re-enabled the original link - but all it does is send me you IP address and whatever other information I can get. I already have what I wanted.
read the previous post. It means that harshini16i ripped me off (fraud), and I wanted to gain as much extra information as possible about him as possible to pass on to VISA. So I made that page and asked him, to visit it before continuing down the path of defrauding me. He did visit, and I got an IP and timestamp. His IP address will quite likely lead back to an ISP which will have logs about who was using that IP address at a particular time. I was hoping he'd realise this and refund my money. He didn't, and he will now have to deal with VISA/Paypal. It was written for him - he chose to share it (I assume in a vain attempt to flood it with other visits, but it was only the first one I needed)
I would believe your card issuer will accept your claim and force PayPal to refund but PayPal will attempt to recover in 90 days (they want their fees) ... VB licenses are $89 (abouts)/year or $160 (abouts) outright... surely you should pay that and save yourself alot of grief.
I fully expect to get my money back. vBulletin licenses are tad more expensive these days, and they no longer have leased licenses. The "suite" which is what was on offer now costs $285 - otherwise you are correct, the potential issues would not be worth the $40 saved.
ok ... ya I have needed to purchase one in a few year but as you said your time saved from this BS is worth the $285.
