External SEO factors

    Hello,

    I have launched many sites recently and all are doing very successful. However, I wish to improve on the success. My sites are "SEO'd out" if you will - I am just looking for backlinking tips I suppose.

    For instance, I have a checklist of which I run through with each site.

    Like..

    1) Submit to major search engines
    2) Add to webmaster tools in google (even though does not helping rankings)
    3) Add to analytics in google (even though it does not help rankings)

    Any other tips would be appreciated. I am not looking for ways to improve the CODE/HTML of the sites, but rather the external SEO factors not relating to the changing of the code.

    If you do not feel comfortable sharing these tips publicly feel free to send a PM!

    Cheers,
    Andy

    To build up backlinks, try writing articles related to your website and get them published by ezines, goarticles etc; write mini articles and put them up as a squidoo lens, try social bookmarking/news sites like oyax mixx propeller, have a link in forum sigantures (you are allowed more than one link in this forum so link to different pages of your website or different websites), blog comments, directories, press releases etc.

    Social networking sites such as facebook are definately good to help drive more traffic to your website. The one thing to keep in mind is these sites have a "no follow" tag. This means Google may not count it as a back link.

    You may want to spread your site urls far and wide using methods like social bookmarking, directory submissions, web 2.0 sites (squidoo wetpaint weebly tumblr posterous hubpage etc.), rss aggregotors/directories, article submissions, searchengine submissions etc. You may want to take a look at my sig. Traffic Bug does many of these submissions on automatic basis for very low monthly price with a free trial available.

    I own a large forum myself - and I know that the majority of forums do not allow any sort of advertising. Do you mean sig links?

    There is lot of techniques one can use to get quality back links from Google, this include the following:

    * Blog commenting
    * Forum posting
    * Article and directory submissions
    * Social bookmarking
    * Classified ads
    * Press release
    * Link exchange
    * Online groups
    * Yahoo Answering

    But when you are doing this, you have to get the backlink from relevant sites and not just any site and you also have to make sure that the links you are getting is from DoFollow site, blogs and forums, because Google gives more value to Dofollow links and relevant of the site.

    Google analytic doesn't help to increase ranking.. you have to create huge amount of back links through directory, articles, social bookmarks, forum posting and other resources.
