I checked my external backlinks with Google webmaster tools and my blogspot blog had 0 external links but my wordpress blog had more than 100, why would that happen when the two should have more or less the same amount? Thanks Ruben
Are you putting the same content on both blogs? If so, one of them will end up not being indexed due to duplicate content issues.
maybe Google Webmaster Tools had not update yet. Waiting for a several day. I don't think about duplicate content. thanks
They're both indexed, I can find both in the SERPS and and there is no duplicate content, I can finf backlinks for both of them in yahoo site explorer, most of them are from this forum which is fine at this point since I just got started but looking at this I may just put more effort on my wordpress blog I guess. Thanks for the replies Ruben
Ok so i looked at my external links a few weeks ago and i have 75+... week ago i had 125+ now i have 350+ But the vast majority of them seem to be from the same site, but i have been doing link building. But those links are no were to be found. using link:domainname returns NOTHING in the serps site:domainname retunres over 4k matches Im so confused, how can i have a decent idea how my link building is going.
The one I've using a lot is yahoo site explorer, I'm always looking for the article sites like ezine and they show up about two weeks later after it's been published. I'm also seeing people using my articles and linking back to me which is good I guess. I'd say just give it time and don't check too often like I used to because it might be frustrating. After one month and three weeks 125 links showed up in google webmaster and it shows a lot more than yahoo so like I was saying it takes time to update. Good luck Ruben
Wordpress blogs get a lot of external links by using tags. Remember that google counts subdomain.wordpress.com as a different domain from wordpress.com
