External links: Open them in a new tab or in the same tab?

    Whether on your blog or website, you link to outside websites, site inner pages or blog post from time to time.
    What is the best way to open external links? In a new tab or in the same tab?
    Does it effect SEO in any way in either case?

    External links should be open in new tab while internal can be same tab.The reason is that once a client clicks on an external link you don't want them leaving your site all together as that will not be good for your bounce rate (bad for seo). Internal links are more like navigational tools where the user is expecting to jump to another page for the sake of getting to content that is more relevant and useful.

    it is not affect on your seo. but to comfortable to your activity you should open in new tab

    From my experience no, but it isn't always comfortable to open in new tab, for example in online shop it not comfortable when you have 25 tabs of 1 product. But when we speack about emails, new tab is the only way.

    Open in a new tab is better and I think it will affect SEO. If you'll ask me why, that I don't know. :)
