I built a site Articles Directory, and I allow the authors to insert an external link "maximum 2 links. " Is it bad to SEO or PageRank? Because I heard that if too many external links will drop the Google-PageRank. Please, give some explanation, friends.

I have also heard same about PageRank but not sure. But I think we should not concern about Page Rank as it's updation is very slow almost once in a year now. ;) So it's better to concentrate on getting quality backlinks which is the backbone of SEO and help you to rank well in search Engine.

Some external links are welcome! SEO best practices for external links. External links are hyperlinks that point at (target) any domain other than the domain the link exists on (source).

IMHO, the number of outbound backlinks will never drop the PR of your site. However, the link strength which is passed to these external sites will be lowered if the number of outbound links is high.

There is no harm to your site if you do this, and I think PR is now no more concerned, just get traffic and search engine rankings.

It is bad. Add external links as few as possible even if they are nofollowed.

You can not preserve PR, so to answer your question, no.
