Hi all. My site is over 4 y.o., PR5, Alexa 9-10k. I have NOONE outgoing link. My site took 5-7 positions for 2 main keywords in Google search results. But today all was dropped. I can't find my positions at all. What can it be? Does Google punish for external reasons????? Please help, guys. Thanks.
Too bad for you, can we see your site? Maybe you are affected with algorithm changes the same with other sites happened the same scenario of yours.
Check your content first. Did you change the url structure, keywords, and content. Check also your off-page does the backlinks created many years ago still there? There are many factors to be considered when you experiencing a huge drop of PR and SERP rankings.
1. Content, url structure and keywords weren't changed for 3 months. To the point, my pages don't have any outgoing links. 2. All the main backlinks (main page and site-wide) are working and stable. No drops. 3. During for 4 months I ordered SEO services of one reputable SEO guru - I wrote him a letter but no answer... as I know they use something like link wheels.
As far as i can assume you had about 50.000 u/v per day.I have several times gained 50.000 u/v per day and a lot of times dropped. So after years of up and down the answer is competition.Build links and do not stop when you gain a good traffic just keep building in a smart way.
Since they are using link wheels that would be a big problem. Check your links or should I say check your link wheel if they are still present. Link Wheels should be continuously updated in order to be effective.
I have been filtered at many sites but in the end i believe that was not punishment just competition.I do agree with achang link wheels are loosing over time and must be updated. So in the end COMPETITION wins you.IMO
As for competition... well, let's answer: can competition drop ALL my pages at 200's positions within an hour? I'm no sure. My site is over 4 years old, PR5 and has over 320,000 pages indexed. In that case it had to be a slow enough process but not immediate.
No not at all ,as you can gain 100.000 u/v per day at the same time you can lossee 100.000 u/v per day a lot of times happened to me.I strongly recomend you as long as you are not violating google webmaster guide to keep build links, if you do not know about seo hire one but very difficult to find a good one.Hire him for long term lets say a year, then you will be able to judge what to do.
Tera, it seems that we have to communicate more... Well, as for the competition... may be someone made an abuse to Google about my site and that was the reason of the positions drop?
Abuse??? For what reason? If just a report had that impact then we all had to be yo yo ...The situation here its like mine but i have experienced a lot of times. The big dilima is COMPETTION or PENALTY? I tend to believe competition. The reason is simple google deindex sites that violates their guidelines, whats the reason to filter a site? I cannot extend my experience in a forum post but a year now i am gathering data from sudden drops and sudden high traffic.I did'nt come to a safe conclusion i am in the last phase of my experiment so in about 6 to 10 months i hope to be sure about this kind of situation. One more question. Did you build links or your only link building was just what you mentioned? If you have a lot sites do you interlink them?
