Extended SERPs, is this a sitemap thing?

    how do you get a SERP like the one on the top instead of the standard one liner result, is it a sitemap thing I need to do? Or is it a decision on google's side that I have no control over?

    It happens if the website is a particular authority site for the given search term. AFAIK, not related to sitemaps.
