    Hi there,
I'm curious what opinions are of Expression Web vs Dreamweaver. I have tried both, but I am really new at this, and would like to know what people prefer before I purchase. As well, can anyone recommend good places to buy (I'm in Canada).

    Thanks!
    Cher

I have never used Expression Web but I am very happy with Dreamweaver. I have used it for about 3 years and have never been dissatisfied with the product.

Expression Web is a great product. The only problem is (and that should not pertain to you) - people that used Frontpage started to use Expression Web (since it was the latest product). Yes, Expression Web will create compliant code. But no longer are the Frontpage Server Extensions that made so many people think they were webmasters.

Shame on Microsoft for creating a product like Frontpage (Server Extensions) that allowed so many people get a website presence. Shame on Microsoft for creating a product like Frontpage (Server Extensions) that allowed so many people to beleive they were now webmasters and could charge for their work. Shame on Microsoft for listening to the gripes how Frontpage created bloated code and now creating Expression Web - a product that creates compliant code. Shame on Microsoft for now pointing out to those webmasters that they were not really webmasters but people who could use a Microsoft Office product. Shame on Microsoft for now making small businesses to possibly contact web developer to build a contact form on their site since Frontpage Server Extensions are being phased out.
