Hey DP members. Quick question for you. When you register an expired domain do you lose the domain age authority? Meaning I found a domain that was first registered in 2000, recently expired and I want this domain name. Will I lose all that old age authority when i register it? Thanks for the responses ;)

Once the domain drops, it's like starting from scratch.

Hi guys - I own about 300 domains and buy mostly aged domains with PR
I have found this to be true (personal experience) if you buy an aged domain, with some PR - install at least a home page - and a link doctor (to redirect any existing backlinks to the front page) then you can keep everything. I bout a PR 4 3 years ago and did thiis.... still PR 4 today and nothing on the front at all.
Best strategy I have found is to install wordpress straight away - and then install a link doctor plugin (I use digilinkdoctor)
Hope that helps - let me know if you want a good aged domain finding tool
    Cheers.
