Expired domain with one nice backlink

I am hoping this is the right place to post this question.

I found an expired domain with a contextual blog post backlink from blog.stamps.com.

Stamps.com is a decent site, but it doesn't seem like it did a whole lot to this domain, SEO wise.

Should I reg this domain based on this one decent domain?

I guess what I mean is, If I go through the trouble developing this site - will this one backlink really do much for me?

Or should I stick to my traditional method of making sure all of the planets align before regging.

it will def give you "some" basis and with a few others like it you would have a good fundament
but just the 1 link isnt gonna do much if anything

    Yeah, that's what I thought.

I decided to pass for now.

I found a better one with a bigger footprint to work with.

If anyone is interested, it's still available: BiggestShoes.com

Not really worth it. It's on a subdomain and it's just 1 link.

I agree that with just one backlink, it's not really worth it..even if that backlink is good, it could easily be lost in a day which would make the domain worthless. You're better off saving money and looking for something with a little bit more authority.
