Expired domain whois information

    Hello,
Lets say the domain example.com was registered in the year 2000... And it then expired in say 2008. If I was to go and register that same domain again and done a search on its whois information what would the "Created On" date be? Would it be the date that I registered it or the first date that it was registered?

    Thanks

Hmmm...well, I've actually had names expire from, say 2000 & then I've picked them back up after a drop & on WHOIS it only shows the date I registered it for the 2nd time. It never showed the first time I registered it. It will only show the actual CURRENT Registrant's information, so therefore the continual date from beginning to expiry of the current registration with that particular Registrant. That's my story... and I'm stickin' to it! LOL! If you find out differently, please post info.

The create on date will be the date you register the domain.
