expired but not quite yet

    i wanted to buy a domain which is apparently expired as per whois search , but still was showing as not available when i try to register it.

    also could you explain what is a redemption period (that's for a different domain). showing in whois as a redemption , what's that.

    It will take up to 60 days after expiration for domain name to be available for registration again.
    Do you own the domain name you are talking about?

    hi siberforum ,


    there are two domains i want to register (i own none of them)
    in 1st domain , whois date is showing it as expired (as per expiration date is given)
    however it's showing unavailable as per registeration and the parked domain site is still active.

    in the case of 2 nd domain , whois is showing it under the redemption period.
