This always happens, I'm having a problem on my computer so I look on Google for the answer and find experts - exchange . com and it drives me nuts because the answer requires paid membership. I can't believe these guys are always so high in the search engines for technical support problems. I don't see how any sane person would link to their site. Can anyone make sense of how they're always so high in the rankings?

haha... thanks. but i do remember before they went to this format about half a year ago, you had to pay to see the solution and they were still on top. i think they went to this new format because of yahoo answers.

aha the age old cloaking of experts-exchange. :) The answers being at the bottom is just a part of it. They have put lot of hidden content which gets indexed by search engines and normal human beings (me too) have to see the registration page :)

They are very old site (in 11th year now) and they do have some really good content there. so they rank well (and ofcourse the shady stuff)
