No shit! R's are their own worst enemy.

If you put some time and thought about it. If the republican president was an actual good speaker (instead of bush who bumbles across everything) and the democrats were the same as they are now (pretty much incoherent fringe left wingers), this election would be a cake walk. Probably pick up seats across the board. But because bush is a bumbler, the leadership in the house/senate are stumblers; its a tight rope. As party, the democrats are a joke, but when the republicans are a joke too; its the one that makes you laugh more who comes out on top :p

Sort of agree! But I gotta admit that goes both ways!:D

Respecfully disagree. I think it is more an example of "power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely"

After 12 years of Republican congressional control and 6 years of a republican administration It is easy to detect numerous examples of political abuse. I think the same thing happened in 1994.

:D Of course when it comes to language bumbling....I crack up some nights catching David Letterman with his little snippets about "Presidential speeches"

Somehow Bush's speeches don't match up to "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself"....or "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country"

Reminds me of an ongoing segment for the Best of the Web:

One man with courage makes a majority."--Andrew Jackson

"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."--Franklin D. Roosevelt

"The buck stops here."--Harry S. Truman

"Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country."--John F. Kennedy

"It is long past time to change course in Iraq and start to end the president's open-ended commitment."--Harry Reid

"The closest Karl Rove ever came to combat was these last months spent worrying his cellmates might rough him up in prison. This porcine political operative can't cut and run from the truth any longer. When it came to Iraq, this administration chose to cut and run from sound intelligence and good diplomacy. . . . In November, Americans will cut and run from this Republican Congress."--Kerry spokesman David Wade

"When I become chairman [of a House appropriations subcommittee], I'm going to earmark the [four-letter scatological vulgarity] out of it."--Rep. Jim Moran

"They gave me a hat. I have the hat to this day. I have the hat."--John Kerry

"What the propagandists on the right have done is make people afraid to say they are Democrats. We have to be out there. We have to be vocal. We have to be pushing our version of the facts because their version of the facts is very unfactual."--Howard Dean

I don't disagree. I wish the democrats were sane so they could hold a place of power and not hamper our ability to defend ourselves. But since they are not, they cannot. *shrugs*

I don't really know who he is, but I'm not sure if I'd want an admitted moron in charge of appropriations :). Food for thought ;)

I'm ok with lawmakers not breaking the law.
I don't see anything on wiki about another country, and in fact is says STATE law. He was censured and stripped of his chairmanship. What more do you want from somebody who didn't break the law? I also remember hearing mr foley was talking to a 16 year old.

Going back 20 years is stretching it a bit lorien :D

You are dodging, Yo. It's a very simple question, really.

You are okay with a 17 year old kid having actual sex with a congressman (after taking him to another country, nonetheless), but are horrified by cyber sex between a congressman and a kid the same age as the previous kid. Is that your position, yo?

All you have to do is type, yes or no.

I have a problem with lawmakers breaking the law no matter the situation. You can't spin it no matter how much you try :D

Fine. Yo is in support of a congressman taking advantage of his authority position overa page as long as the page is legal age. As long as that's more acceptable to you, I guess I'll take it

    Well.

#1 that yo cannot answer a yes or no question. Even when asked repeatedly

#2 that a party (democrats) cannot claim their moral outrage when their current leadership (pelosi etal) and their voters not only re-elected someone who was actually censured by the house for a worse crime (studds) but also voted him into a leadership position 5 times afterwards.

#3 that that same party still cannot claim moral outrage when the previous president pardoned a man convicted of child molestation in 2000 (not 20 or 200 years ago).

Want me to go on? Or are you ready to answer that yes/no question now?

I think it's nice that you finally stopped pretending that this has anything to do with Mark Foley.

You're just a furry little hate monger.
