Hi folks, and thanks for reading. I'm a developer/designer at heart and relative novice when it comes to link building, SEO, etc. So, I am working on a site that is a directory of local restaurants etc, and the task of getting even a 20% coverage local data is obviously daunting, if not impossible, especially when compared to the big guns. So, here's the idea. I figured a way to get rapid, accurate user generated submissions of their local venues is to offer a deal where for every venue a user submits in their region, they can submit their AdSense pub-id & chosen channel, and all AdSense impressions/profit from the page go to them, FOR LIFE. Obviously not going to pay a mortgage, but if a user enters say 10,20,30,40 popular venues, that could yield a nice trickle of cash over the years for very little effort. I figure I can sweeten it with a link back on the page as well for extra links. I'm wondering - (a) Does anyone think this is a good idea / would bother doing it? (b) Do you think it will cause problems with Google's Terms & Conditions for AdSense - I can't see that it would given (I assume) there must be plenty of blog services that let users carry adsense on their blogs that are all getting served of the same domain. What are your thoughts?
Adsense revenue sharing is fine, and practical. Only thing google recommends is not to have two different publisher DI at the same page. That is, if you put a third persons ad ona page, dont put your own ad on the same page at the same page load. You can ofcourse make it a percentage, like on 50% of page load, it will show the affiliates publisher id and other 50% shows your own. Point is - no two pubid on the same page at the same time. A practical difficulty is that if one of the affiliate clicks his own ad, you might end up paying the price. It is posssible that google ban your domain, even though the clicks were done by someone else, for someone else.
I figured I'd simply never show the "Submitter" their own ads on any IP they login with - I already capture all IP's a user ever logs in with. Obviously not infallable but should defeat the majority of opportunists.
