Okay guys, I’m doing a little bit of experimentation/analysis and would like your feedback on a hypothetical situation in an attempt to build STRONG thematic backlinks.

    Hypothetical Situation:

You are in the process of purchasing a backlink from one of four PR4 sites for the keyword “abcxyz”. There is only one outbound text anchor link with your keyword available that will be made from any of the sites . Also there is only one outbound link in total from all the sites. You can only buy one link a month. Which order would you purchase your links in.

    1) Site1: Which ranks #1 in serps for allin:url for abcxyz
    2) Site2: Which ranks #1 in serps for allin:title for abcxyz
    3) Site3: Which ranks #1 in serps for allin:text for abcxyz
    4) Site4: Which ranks #1 in serps for allin:anchor for abcxyz

Please provide your reasoning behind your decision.
    :)
    Thanks
    Frank

That's pretty confusing, I guess I'm going to subscrive to this thread and view what others have to say about it....

I would choose 2 or 3, but I can't provide any good valid reasons why.....

I wouldn't use one method, but all of them. Map the top 10 for each seach then cross reference each site with each search. Find out which site has the best rankings across the board between all 4 searches.

    Then purchase link. ;)

    allintitle
    allintext
    allinanchor
    allinurl

The title of the page seems to be as much or more important to G than relevant backlinks to a particular page (I've seen DP threads outrank entire websites for their own search term, totally unrelated to webmaster stuff). Also, the title I believe plays a key role (along with the surrounding text) for relevancy. I put the URL last because the SE's seem to not really care much what the URL of the page is.

I'd go for allinanchor first and allinurl last

This would be a great experiment if it were not a great waste of time

    1. Google hates bought links...play with fire long enough ....you get burned.

    2. Links are only one part of the ranking algorithim...since you do not know all the parameters... it impossible to conduct a test of any true meaning or is proof positive.

    My two cents.

I vote with mdvaldosta. I think title is vip. You used to could rank extremely well if term was in title. The algo changed but I still think title is quite impt.
