Hello, I have been displaying amazon products on my site as affiliate link so that when they click and go toi amazon, whatever they buy i get commission. it has been 2-3 years since i did that and my website has a monthly traiifc of 600-1000 visitors in one month. but so far i have only earned a total of may be 10-25 dollars!! thats all. what is wrong with this picture?
One or more of the following is occurring: You are targeting the wrong part of the buying cycle You are providing terrible content and weak calls to action Your products don't match your content Your traffic is also kinda light. Amazon is a numbers game. 30 visitors per day isn't going to cut it in most cases.
@wolfmmiii - What have you found is the minimum traffic necessary to make a site a regular earner with say average conversions of like 6-8%?
Well, conversions are a product of buying cycle. You need to target terms that buyers use when late in the buying cycle. In my opinion, you want to generate at least 100 CLICKS per day to generate any meaningful income. What I do is target low competition products that nobody else is targeting. I do this because I can rank easily and I don't have to mess around with backlinking.
Do you explain and exemplify "need to target terms that buyers use when late in the buying cycle" in your WSO? Thanks.
Yes VictorK he does. Pretty much you want to target model specific keyword phrases rather than generic ones. When people are searching for things like "Dewalt D26960K" they're probably wanting to buy that specific model heat gun vs. when they search for "heat gun" or "Dewalt heat gun" they're probably not sure which type they want yet.
Create some good content related to affiliates and the product you promote should be theme related. Try to do SEO as well. it will help in increasing visible in google.
What type of blog are you using? It might be a good idea to use a network where you can start right away using a high authority blog that automatically gets your blog ranked right away I get ranked and a high amount of traffic simply because its such a high authority network....
Is this traffic figure specifically for Amazon promotions or do it include everything? If it does then, that might explain the poor sales but if it's for Amazon products then, you conversion rate is very suspect and you'll need to change your approach.
