My client (a high profile respectable business that was featured on UK TV) would like an entry on Wikipedia for his company.

Can you help with this? If so please let me know your experience.

We want the listing to stick and not be removed.

You cannot advertise a company or business in any form. If there is something newsworthy about your company that is informative and educational then it will stick. It really depends on what this company was featured for. In most cases Wikipedia will see it as blatant advertising.

Here is an extract from wikipedia:

"Please do not try to promote your product or business. Please do not insert external links to your commercial website unless a neutral party would judge that the link truly belongs in the article; we do have articles about products like Kleenex or Sharpies, or notable businesses such as McDonald's, but if you are writing about a product or business be sure you write from a neutral point of view, that you have no conflict of interest, and that you are able to find references in reliable sources that are independent from the subject you are writing about."

References cannot be from website, articles or any online media. It has to deal with either reference books or TV etc.
