Just optimising my PPC on Google and all the terms rearding website design the cost per click is now getting to £4.00. This is very expensive.

Has any other web design company having this problem?

Try different keyword and targetting countries.
I didn't have experience in running web design keywords but for my campaign, sometimes a keyword goes as high as $7 per click. I just tweak my campaign to use less popular keyword but still have decent amount of searches.

Your costs are dependent on your QS. In the website design industry, £4 clicks is probably typical for the average advertiser with a QS of 6-7 shooting for the first position. You may save a quid or two with a higher QS. Learn more in the Adwords FAQ.

Different keywords have different biddings. Instead of using top-traffic keywords use several hundred low-traffic keywords.

Result will be much better ;) and cost will be less.

Lucid has it right, what sort of average Quality Score are you seeing on these £4.00 keywords AWS? It may be that some landing page optimisation might help to the move the QS in the right direction and the AVG. CPC follow suit.
