Expensive keywords

    Hello. I've been looking at adwords, and noticed that certain keywords are very expensive. "Web hosting" costs over $10 per click! How do these companies afford to pay this much? There is no way they are getting a sale every 10 or so clicks. Is it possible to run ads with expensive keywords through the display network for a lot cheaper with success? Thank you.

    You are assuming they are paying that much. The keyword tool is just an estimate. It is based on average QS. If you achieve a better QS, you'll pay less. Also, the lifetime value of a client buying web hosting can be very high, in the thousands of dollars. Spending a hundred or so to acquire that client is obviously well worth it.

    Feel sorry for the insurance guys, they have keywords that average between $60 and $100.

    Also, don't forget two other things;

    1. Those who spend $10 a click now, will probably do nothing next month.

    2. Those who spend $10 a click, probably have lower costs, and charge a lot more than you.

    Don't worry about competing head to head with them. Be the best "web host for wordpress websites georgia" or whatever long tail'ish keyword you can come up with. Not only will it cost you less, you will probably find better clients and convert more.

    also, still include your site under that keyword/s, just at the price you are willing to pay. I have bid below 20c for some very expensive travel keywords, but still tend to get a few views per month from them

    Hello. I've been looking at adwords, and notice that sure keywords are very luxurious. Web hosting costs over $10 per click! How do these companies afford to pay this much? There is no way they are getting a sale every 10 or so clicks. Is it probable to run ads with luxurious keywords through the show network for a lot cheaper with success? Thank you.

    You can still get impressions of you bid well below the first page quotation. And focussing on search for specific target keywords works effectively for me too.

    There is a way to still make money in a market with expensive keywords. What you can do is use the misspellings of those keywords. Misspellings cost less and many people make mistakes with keyboards when typing. There are many software that can generate many misspellings of these expensive keywords.

    but when i checked this idea was alreay out on the net.of course this is for websites not adwords

    Yes, Google does automatically now go to the correct spelling, so does that work at all still?

    not for me. think those days are behind. the correct version of my word has 100k searches a month. and its easily misspelled. stupid google. lol. even if its in " " it STILL corrects it !! but under the misspelled version, im #1. i get about 1 visit per day. im just going to toss it in when i sell some one of my sites/domains that is even in the same remote arena.

    They may have figured out that 5 out of 10 new subscription will reoccur or similar making it pay off in the long term.
