Expected CTR

    Hi

I'm new to azoogle and trying to diversify away from adsense.
I've added an offer to a part of the site that pays quite well and seems pretty targetted to my site visitors, but out of 40 clicks (about 10 per day) to the ad no one has signed up for the offer.

I'm not currently planning to do PPC, just have the ad as an extra for organic site visitors.

Is 40 clicks too small a sample to judge by? What kind of % of people clicking on the ad follow through to an action usually? (The action here involves spending $40)

    Thanks for any help

Yes, 40 clicks is too small of a sample to tell what's going on. As far as CTR it depends on the page and the offer.

Send 500 clicks, then you can start asking questions.

Okey dokey, I'll come back next month!

I'd thought that if someone is tempted enough to click on the ad there'd be a pretty high sign-up rate. Bit over-optimistic it seems!

    Cheers for your comments.

    What offer do you promote?

1% is an average for convertions but it depends on how targetted is the traffic you send, the ad copy and the landing page.

The offer is to 'buy cheap wine' that I've put in a recipe site.

I wouldn't have been surprised to have a low CTR on the ad, but the ad is pretty 'honest' and the landing page is professional, so I had thought there would be a high sign-up rate with those that do click.

A sign up rate of 1:100 will be pretty good income wise, so I'll stick with it for now and see how it goes.

I only added geotargetting for ads to the site a couple of weeks ago and couldn't use azoogle very well without it (most suitable offers are US only), so I'm still just trying to get a feel for how it all works.

Any suggestions for offers that work with travel sites are very welcome.

    Cheers

Yes usually you want a sample of several hundred or thousands to get even a rough idea.
