Expat webmasters?

Are there any webmasters on here who have decided to move to and work from another country?

I was thinking of possibly moving - somewhere like Prague or Budapest sounds appealing....

Of course there would have to be high speed internet available, but that is pretty ubiquitous these days it seems  :)

Move? I don't think webmasters really need to move to work somewhere else (gotta love the internet!).

I've never considered it (for website design) but maybe when I get my major, I'll move out of the country to work a bit and return back (I love Canada:p )

Budapest and Prague sounds good! You should check it out and see how you like working there :)

Bulgaria is the place to go, you can buy brand new flats for around £2k-£30k (modern nice new ones). Cost of living is nothing and they do have broadband :)

I second that, cheap property and a lovely country.
My plan is to buy an apartment in New York, I went last year, and loved it.

There are quite a few of us expats in Thailand that post here. Most of us live in Bangkok, but I think there are a few outliers in places like Chiang Mai and Phuket. Some of us met up the other day here in Bangkok and it was fun. The major requirements when you're looking abroad, really, are stable telecom infrastructure, major airport nearby, reliable worldwide shipping and quality of life. The first three can be pretty easy to find these days, but the last depends on your taste. I just show up, plug in my Vonage router and I might as well be in Houston as far as anyone back home knows. I work with a guy from Chicago actually (just noticed your location). He loves it here.

A lot of people in America really dig Buenos Aires since the economy took a nosedive and have moved down there and made it something of a real expat cultural hub. If you don't want to head so far from home you could look into things down there - it's basically a European country (according to the people from BA, heh, note the sarcasm and don't repeat that to the Brits).

I'm planning on moving eventually once I get alittle more stable. If you have assets here and liquidate you can easily get settled into a new way of life much cheaper and live like a king....

    C. America or maybe parts of Europe.... Nope Central America. Europe would be beautiful to continue visiting though.
