Hi there, I run a small marketing company which for the last years have been doing pretty well in my home country Norway. I have a good clients that keeps the income going each month and a couple of co-workers to take the load of my back. Everything is going smoothly. I'm even landing new clients without doing any real effort in marketing my company. However, I recently moved to Australia to finish my degree in marketing. I plan to stay here for a couple of years, so I'm thinking about starting up a marketing company down here as well. I still have my experience, but I have absolutely nothing else down here. I don't really think there is any point in listing my Norwegian clients for references. How would you suggest me to go forward when hitting the Australian market? I'm based in Perth, Western Australia and plan to target this city first. I assume there is more than enough clients to go around.
This may be too simplistic but I would think you could start just like you did in Norway. Only this time, you have the benefit of experience and (hopefully) some capital available from your current business. Can you give some more details on the company itself? "marketing company" is pretty generic.
Our main products or service would be SEO and SEM. We can also do webdevelopment and design, but that's not what our main focus is!
I'm sure I'm just missing something here but I don't understand the question then. Marketing SEO and SEM services would be the same regardless of what country you are in. Australia is just the country you are in. I'm located in the US but I have clients from more than 60 different countries. If I moved to Australia, London, Switzerland, France, Greenland, I wouldn't change a thing about how I handle my marketing. I've traveled all over this country and have been able to conduct my marketing and customer support with my laptop and modem card or wi-fi. As a SEO and SEM marketer, use your own services to reach your market in Australia and any other country you want to cash checks from.
