I manage the marketing for a window film company called SunGlo Window Films. We have just added a location. We are continually working to make our website better and want to include our new location in the site optimization. My question is what steps should I take to include our new location in the optimization? My goal is to have local people searching for window film find our sight for our new location. Terms like "Durango Window Film" are the important keywords for my company. I know that creating a new website for the new location is not feasible because google frowns upon duplicate content and we will be offering the same services. Therefore, should I just create one page focused on the new location? Or go back across the whole site? Any help is welcome! The site is in my signature. Thanks in advance. Tim
Duplicate content doesn't mean the same services, otherwise all people within your industry would be flanked off the search engines, and all other industries for that matter. Duplicate or "similar" content, is basically paraphrasing the exact same sentence, phrase or paragraph. It's totally feasible to have a seperate website, but it may not be needed - you need to think about the investment (time wise) to build a new website. Given, I assume, you already some quality back-links to your primary website, it might be easier to rank with the PR that you've already built up through that.
Thank you for the input! So how would I go about using my current (primary) site to incorporate the new location? Add a page about the new location? Put the new location's keywords throughout the site? Thank you, Tim
Yeah simpley mentioning the new location in your current site should be fine to be honest, if you have a contact us page with the new locations address and details of opening hours methods of contact such as phone numbers, email address ect, maybe a nice picture of the place. Breif over lok of services provided from that loction and that should be enough. Some people like to mention locations/address in footer of website that tends to work well too.
you can simply say from to your current place and your visitors won't get lost by that. With keywords try to make it look natural to include it and not just by inserting...
"during window tinting"? or did you mean "Denver window tinting? How about you hit me up on Skype and I will help you out.
Whatever you choose, it might be good to think about something that will meet your needs for a third and fourth location as well. I see All In One SEO plugin - you should add your Durango keywords in the meta information on that plugin. Perhaps add a drop down box in a new section called Locations, in the header area on the right, next to Company Blog?
