Got to go help someone, so I'll start this short.

Here's what's at the end, to condense this into a summary: Wouldn't it be as important, to rank a website based on personal computer users recommending sites to one another - similar to backlinks, but not backlinks? Is it possible?

Someone posted about my "grey bar" pages in a post pertaining to PageRank. I asked them to search without quotes for "French drain diagram" to show where my site displayed, in relation to pure variety of text, including mention about VALUE of misspelled words. Misspelled words hold a value that may be harder to "rank".

That triggered another thought about websites and their Rank, value or worth. That would be "how many people have you bookmarked".

Do any of you gauge bookmarks to your site? Can bookmarks be gauged? In my case, I never started my site with internet results. My main goal was advice pages for my customers. That's where all the advice pages and current AdSense started - had nothing to do with making money off that stuff.

So in Oregon, I have hundreds of names in my customer list, and all of them have been given my website address, with specific instructions on where to find the advice page that fit their need, whether watering the plant I installed for them, or for preventing compaction on their lawn. I just did that visit by visit over the years.

Anyway, customers told me about emailing by page to co-workers - like at Nike Corporation, and Intel in Hillsboro, next to Beaverton where I was based.

This also happens within gardening, arborist, horticulture and lawn forums. From what I understand, links are often stored in bookmarks.

It seems that this can develop into a form of Value or Rank, that may be hard to keep track of, unless the actual direct visits from home computers is factored into the algorithyms and given merit similar to backlinks.

    Thoughts?

Any other illusive value and rank that you find of interest?
