Executive decision

I’m meaning to create a second web-site to make some real money from adsense. Now I need to make a life and death decision. The web-site is going to be about cars in general (I read that this content draws a lot of high paying keywords). Now what I need to decide is should I make a web-site such as a database of press releases from different manufacturers (lots of articles, lots of content) OR should I focus my web-site on affiliated car parts and hope that I will have enough content for google ads? From a business point of view, am I likely to make more from adsense on a press release database OR on a car parts e-store? The problem I see with the store is that google ads will display competitive ads and this may hinder my CTR. The problem with press release database is 1) I am not 100% sure if I will violate any copyright laws and 2) Are people going to be interested enough about the ads to click on them. What do you all think?

    Any advice please!

    Thanks in advance.

Seems to me like both would be the best choice. For press releases, if you publish them exactly as they're provided, that's what the publishers want, more exposure. You can copy them to your hearts content. If you just do one or the other, it will seem flat, if you do both options, you'll have a good mix and a better chance at getting the clickers.

I also suggest you mix 'em both.

well I just joined the BMW press club and this is in their Legal Disclaimer:

May not be reposted to other sites---I'm not sure, but I think I would be violating this.

yes definite you will. I suggest contact them and ask for permission, If they realize the benifit of it they may allow you to repost their content. In building sites focus on contents for your users and not for adsense sake. After all your users will give you the income you want.

    Just my 2 cents.

why not go for both, people love content rich websites, and if your information is captive enough your base will grow very fast.
