Execution sparks Arab support for Saddam

CAIRO, Egypt - The execution of Saddam Hussein has sparked a wave of support for the former Iraqi leader around the Arab world, with some proclaiming him a martyr and comparing him to heroes of Arab nationalism — raising resentment against the United States and Iraq's Shiite-led government.

    ........................

Praise for Saddam has only grown since his Dec. 30 hanging, eclipsing what had been a greater acknowledgement in recent years of the atrocities committed by his regime.

On Monday, one Egyptian paper, the independent Al-Karama, splashed Saddam's photo over a full page Monday, with an Iraqi flag behind him, declaring him an "Arab martyr."

"He lived as hero, died as a man," another Egyptian opposition newspaper, Al-Osboa, proclaimed in a headline, showing a photo of Saddam at the gallows.

The American administration is really run by incompetents, anybody could see that by ordering the Iraq government to execute Saddam, they would just make the situation worse.

You don't even understand simple math, so I hardly doubt that you can understand the social and psychological effects of what people in Arab world see as the murder of an Arab leader by American government.

The US handed over Saddam to an Iraqi court who tried him, convicted him, and hung him. The US had nothing to do with that...so how am I the one not understanding? And as far as math goes, I have a minor in it, so if you want to talk algebra, geometry, calculus 1,2, or 3, plus statistics and probability, let me know. Although for you, I am sure I have to keep it to simple addition and subtraction.

I don't think the Iraq government including the president and prime minister can blow their nose without first getting permission from an American officer in Iraq. Nobody looks at this government as anything but a puppet, so it doesn't matter what kind of show they arranged, the people in Arab world see it as an Arab leader being killed by Americans. ;)

Thats where they are wrong...they also believe Christians are a "people of the book". Anyone who thinks Saddam is a martyr is just another terrorist appeaser, which sounds like where you are going right now as well...

 you sound like Gtech on drug.

One man terrorist is another man freedom fighter. It doesn't matter what you think or how you see it since you are not there and you are not fighting. What matters is how people in Arab world see it since they are there and they can support or not support people that you call terrorists.

Hell, don't have to go far for that! Look at all the support and sympathy the man that murdered million(s) received right here.

Actually, I was never a Corporal, but would have been proud to have been one. As I've corrected you some thirty times on this now, a Corporal is a highly respected position for an E-4. Very few are promoted to this rank, most are promoted to "Specialist." Only those with exemplary leadership skills in critical MOS where there is a shortage of NCOs are promoted to such.

Apparently, you do not have the capacity for learning. After thirty times, one would think you might have some sort of mental ability to remember information. Speaks well of you.

Im sure Gtech was probably pumping gas in the National Guard before he decided that his calling was recruiting people to kill for a flag.

I know you have told me many times but no matter how much I try, it is hard for me to accept that you were a Sergeant. I know US Army has a lot of problems but nobody can be that stupid to promote you and I am still surprised that you were not discharged under section 8. :D
