Ankur- Hi, my name's Cody, and I'm working with the Internet Explorer Outreach Team to help answer questions users might have about the new Internet Explorer 8 RC1. I saw you said the links had been removed from the Microsoft site, and I wanted to let you and everyone else know that they're now active, and you should be able to download the IE8 RC1 at your convenience. Here's a link to the download: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/beta/worldwide-sites.aspx?ocid=ie8_sm_a Have fun, let me know if you have any questions, and enjoy Internet Explorer 8! Thanks, Cody Internet Explorer Outreach Team
Cody, 1) Please tell us, I don't see IE8 completely supporting CSS2.1 even though complete support was the target. Is this true? 2) Why won't IE8 support SVG? Can you promise it for IE9? 3) Why won't IE8 support XHTML? 4) How is the "strong support" for HTML5 coming along in IE8? 5) How is CSS3 support coming along? What can you say will be in IE8 and IE9? 6) Care to comment on the fact that IE8 is only approaching where all other browsers were a couple years ago? 7) I see that border-radius won't be in IE8. Why is that? 8) How long till IE9 comes out? If you answer all those, I've got more, but I've got to go to dinner.
What about some screenshots of Internet Explorer in action? Not just the setup phase. I'm also a fan of FF3 and don't wish to move to any other browser at this minute. I find most browsers don't have the ability to have all these custom mods like FF...I love my SearchStatus add-on Thanks for the info though, nice to see people still sharing what's currently going on.. - A
drhowarddrfine- Unfortunately, I am not on the Internet Explorer development team, so a better option for getting the answers you're looking for might be for you to look at the official Internet Explorer blog. The developers there do a great job of handling all kinds of technical questions and directly interacting with users. Here's the link: http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/ I hope you find it useful! Thanks, Cody Internet Explorer Outreach Team
lol! A great job avoiding questions on the IEBlog. I'm surprised Cody came back so quick. These "Outreach" guys tend to fly in, make a post like the above, then disappear for two weeks or more. Then they post "Thanks for your input!" and you never hear from them again.
i thought u were one of the IE8 outreach team members... so why not answer some of the user queries...instead of redirecting them elsewhere??
Cody,I knew but the time I posted this article the link was removed, now I can't edit it otherwise I would have done it
erolelcott- I'm not on the IE8 development team, so I'm not a technical expert on a lot of the questions drhowarddrfine had, so I was just trying to get him pointed towards the resources he'd need to get the answers he wanted. I'll see if I can get ahold of the IE8 development team myself to get those questions answered for him, though. Thanks for your patience, Cody Internet Explorer Outreach Team
Heh. 2 weeks and no response. Because they don't want to give the answers. (I already know the answers.)
