Lizzy: Animation is not for this site. Nothing that fancy as minimal is best. That seems to be a very detailed globe and I think I prefer the bluer globe from previous attempts. looking forward to seeing some currencies in there.
Lizzy: Those currency images aren't what I had in mind. I was thinking of the 4 currency pairs wrapping around the globe in a line at a 45 degree angle. You are missing the Japanese Yen symbol which is a Y with 2 lines in it. I'd say don't concentrate too much now on the text as its the logo that needs the touch up. Jamess: Nice and simple. I don't mind it. Is it possible to place a globe behind your logo that is very opaque as in faint? Whilst I like the dollar symbols, the great thing about CFDs is the ability to trade all the worlds markets from the one account, hence the globe being very important in this logo. It's about 3 hours past my bed time as I wanted to stay up to date and give quick feedback on all your designs but I have to call it stumps now and hit the pillows. Thanks again and I'll keep the feedback coming first thing in the morning.
Dorarpol: Thanks for your entry. I think initially the design jumped out at me for the wrong reasons with the huge black bold text. It grabbed me as a discount place. That's what I felt initially anyway and the red .com seems a little out of place just because of the bright red color. New logo will be placed on this style of webpage: http://www.learncfds.com/new-logo.html so it needs to blend in with the orange, grey and blue on the site currently.
looks like ive been edged out by many... lol hmmm i probably should have shown a transparent copy... globe has slight glow
Lizzy: You must be exhausted. Seems you couldn't quite get the circling effect. Kyu: Original but not quite the effect we are after Joidiamonds: You certainly haven't been edged out by anyone. Really solid effort. You certainly put quite a lot of ingenuity into those and delivered. Dorarpol: Still not what we are after. Xmas and the verdict: We would love to give a 2nd prize ($10) and a 3rd prize ($5) as you have all made brilliant designs. I have to admit its been extremely tough and inspiring. You guys are literally designing the face of our business and we are very grateful for your efforts. Xmas: Given its xmas tomorrow and everyone would be getting organised etc we are going to stop the contest now and decide the winner either Xmas evening or the day after (26th). I have forwarded all designs to a group of around 12 friends and I want to tally their responses to get a feel for what other people like. Results so far: This is not the final result but the tally of friends votes so far in order from best to least best (still brilliant): Pixobox - Corporate image and can be used as our logo for linking purposes etc Lizzy4 - Your blue globe with reflection with no currency pairs. Not to mention your enthusiasm and commitment. Joko and Joidi - Joko is ahead in the polls but Joidi's effort came through late and needs to be submitted. Joko it was your last effort that pulled the great result. As soon as I have the final result I'll post it here for everyone to see. Really top efforts by all and I really mean that.
Sapiraz: Nice unique effort. I do like what you have done with the globe and the currency symbols but a globe is definitely round, not a cube. Jeezy:Nice simply design. I do like the shadings in your font and especially the grey/blue combo but its just shy of the top couple. Thanks again for your effort.
This is my entry. Feedback appreciated. PS: I don't have nothing against others but some of globe icons are copied from the internet.
Ploomer: Welcome to the contest. What a terrific entry. I love your 1st entry more than the 2nd. I actually thought that having the currencies 'race' around the globe would be great and having that effect would do the trick. Almost like a woosh like you see in the cartoons when a character is zooming off. To best use that effect maybe only one currency would be best (the $ sign). The other thing I love about your logo the is 45 degree angle for both your lines circling the globe. I have been mentioning that a few times and figured its just been too hard, hence the reason no-one really did a design like that. Sorry for the late feedback but you are now definitely in the contest with your 1st entry and I'd say you are ranking up at the top or very near the top.
Is the contest still open? I figured the contest was drawing to a close as everyone seemed to have exhausted all suggestions but if anyone has some ideas like Ploomer that are fresh and you'd think it might do the trick, then please send them through. It's been a gruelling couple of days for me (and I reckon even more so for the great designers) and with christmas here I figured everyone had family stuff to do etc (including myself). But as I said if you think you've got a great idea then send them through. I'll do my best to give feedback. Thanks again.
