    Hi PPL

I was just wondering if it is better to exchange links with http://www.mydomain.com or http://mydomain.com

How far does the www matter...
I always exchanged links with the www at the beginning and my link popularity with www is much better than without.
What if i would start exchanging links without www now????

Does anybody know whats the real difference???

    Thanx and best regards.
    Mavi

don't think it makes a difference.. just make sure you do a 301 redirect to the preferred domain on your own and set it in Google webmaster tools too

Go for whichever has the higher PR. Also in Google Sitemap account, you can make google treat both same for your domain.

Yea, u if ur site has be around for quite some time, choose the one which has a higher pm. Otherwise choose the one without www, cos i read somewhere that the value of www has depreciated.

i don't know where you got that info from, but people generally browse sites without the www more often, so i guess, removing the www will be a better option.

Use the one URL link format and stick with it. Best probably to use the www version

LOL, that was precisely what i was trying to say. The value of www. has gone down, whcih mean that the domain without the www is better. Personally i dun think it is that important anyway.

I actually find most webmasters use the www link format when linking to sites. Look at some of the top SEO websites, you don't see them optimizing for the non www version of their pages do you now?

I completely agree. If you aren't familiar with the whole "canonical url's issue", read this: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/dear-digg-million-code It's about digg.com, but it will help clarify the issue with a relevant example. of www vs non-www links.
